John Haughom, M.D. Senior Vice President, Healthcare Improvement Division, PeaceHealth
John Haughom, M.D., is corporate Senior Vice President of the Healthcare Improvement Division for PeaceHealth. Prior to this, Dr. Haughom served as the corporation’s Chief Medical Officer and the Director of Health Services Research and Development. He also has 15 years of clinical practice experience. In this role, he is responsible for clinical improvement, health services research, outcomes measurement, the information systems department, the web services department, and all PeaceHealth information systems initiatives including the Community Health Record, a computer-based medical record system providing across the continuum care support to physician groups and regional health care facilities in three states (Oregon, Washington, and Alaska). In addition to an electronic medical record, features of the Community Health Record include physician order entry, real time decision support, chronic disease registries, a robust data warehouse architecture and advanced secure access to clinical information for patients via the Internet. Dr. Haughom is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Informatics at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, OR.
Gordon C. Hunt, Jr., M.D., M.B.A. Senior Vice President and CMO, Sutter Health
Dr. Hunt heads Sutter Health’s system-wide quality initiatives and efforts to integrate care through alliances with aligned and affiliated physicians groups across northern California. He has extensive experience in medical group formation, developing hospital-physician partnerships, and the integration of hospitals, multi-specialty medical groups, and IPAs. Dr. Hunt is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine. He is a member of California Medical Association’s Commission on Legislation.
Rockwell Fredrickson, M.D.
As the Vice President of Clinical Excellence and CMO for Providence Health System, Dr. Fredrickson led Providence’s medical and clinical affairs. He has fifteen years of experience as a General Internist at Pacific Medical Clinics, a 150-physician group practice in Seattle. Dr. Fredrickson received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Virginia Mason Clinic in Seattle, and has a Certificate in Healthcare Management from Arizona State University.
Molly J. Coye, M.D., M.P.H. CEO, Health Technology Center
Dr. Molly J. Coye is founder and CEO of the Health Technology Center (HealthTech), a non-profit education and research organization established in 2000 to advance the use of beneficial technologies in promoting healthier people and communities. Today HealthTech provides objective technology forecasts, innovative decision-making tools, and expert learning networks for 45 Partner organizations. Partners include nearly 25 percent of the nation’s hospitals, as well as the country’s leading health plans and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, which together cover more than half of all insured Americans. Dr. Coye has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. She served as Commissioner of Health for the State of New Jersey and Director of the California Department of Health Services, in addition to heading the Division of Public Health at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, leading marketing and product development for interactive health communication and disease management at HealthDesk Corp, serving as Executive Vice President for the Good Samaritan Health System, and directing The Lewin Group’s West Coast office. As a member of the Institute of Medicine, Dr. Coye co-authored the reports To Err is Human and Crossing the Quality Chasm, chaired the Committee on Access to Insurance for Children, and co-chaired the Committee on Patient Safety Data Standards. Dr. Coye is on the Board of Trustees of the American Hospital Association and the Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), one of the largest and most creative nonprofit organizations working in international health. She was a founding board member of The California Endowment, the largest private health care philanthropy in California. Dr. Coye has her M.D. and M.P.H. degrees from Johns Hopkins University and is board certified by the American College of Preventive Medicine. In 2005, she was selected one of the 100 most influential leaders in health care - and the 25 most influential women in health care - by Modern Healthcare magazine.
Charles R. Denham, M.D. CEO, HCC Corporation - Chairman, TMITDr. Denham has a healthcare product and solution development career spanning over 20 years. He was an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas in Austin from 1983 to 2003. Chuck has been an instructor in innovation adoption, technology transfer, and commercialization. Dr. Denham has served on editorial boards and authored works in science, managed care and medication management and safety. Dr. Denham is also an Associate Editor for the Journal of Patient Safety. Dr. Denham is CEO of the HCC Corporation, developers of care-centered, evidence-based Breakthrough Technology Processing Systems. Chuck also invented software-based innovation design and development decision support systems. Dr. Denham is a founder and Chairman of the Texas Medical Institute of Technology (TMIT), a non-profit medical research organization. In 2003, Dr. Denham was appointed as Chairman of The Leapfrog Group Safe Practices Program. In 2005, he was appointed Co-Chairman of the National Quality Forum (NQF) Safe Practices Committee. A graduate of the University of Alberta, Dr. Denham undertook radiation oncology specialty training at Baylor College of Medicine, and trained at Texas Children’s Hospital and the MD Anderson Tumor Institute at Texas Medical Center in Houston. He spent 12-years in a Radiation Oncology practice.
Lauren M. Doliva, Ph.D. Partner, Heidrick & Struggles
Dr. Doliva serves as co-leader of the Heidrick & Struggles Global E-Business Practice. Since 1984, she has represented clients in several industries, including interactive media, e-commerce and other on-line businesses. Dr. Doliva received her doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley, in counseling psychology, earned while serving as clinical psychology staff intern at Children’s Hospital (San Francisco), University of California, Los Angeles Public Health Department, and Kaiser Hospital (Oakland). She received her M.A. in teaching from Harvard University and her B.A. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dan Fox , Ph.D., President Emeritus Milbank Memorial Fund
Dr. Fox led the Milbank Memorial Fund, the nation’s oldest endowed foundation in healthcare and public health. Prior to that he was a faculty member and administrator at Harvard University and then at the Health Sciences Center of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Fox holds A.B, A.M. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University and is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.
Kathryn E. Johnson
Kathryn E. Johnson served as the Chief Executive Officer of Health Forum for twenty-five years and retired January 1, 2002. She has served on numerous Boards, including chairing the Boards of the Institute for Research on Learning and the American Society of Association Executives. She is a former W. K Kellogg Foundation Fellow. Currently, Ms. Johnson serves on the Boards of the Friends of the UN World Food Program, the Health Tech Center, the International Leadership Association, Omni Med, and RENEW.
Louise L. Liang, M.D. Senior Vice President, Quality and Clinical Systems Support, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals
Louise L. Liang, M.D., Senior Vice President, Quality and Clinical Systems Support, joined Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in 2002. She oversees the national quality agenda to ensure that members receive excellent care and service. She is also responsible for the development and implementation of organization-wide electronic clinical and administrative systems to support the continuity and quality of care as well as efficient business functions. Prior to her role at Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Liang served as the Chair, Board of Directors, Institute for Healthcare Improvement. From 1997 to 2001, Dr. Liang served as the Chief Operating Officer and Medical Director of Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound and the founding CEO and President of Group Health Permanente, their affiliated medical group. Previously she held various leadership positions in hospital, health plan, and public policy settings. Dr. Liang served on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Panel of Judges during 1998 and 1999, on the Leadership Council of the American Association of Health Plans during 2000 and 2001, and various other boards and committees.Mary Pittman, Ph.D. President, Public Health Institute
Dr. Pittman serves at President of the Public Health Institute, an independent nonprofit organization attracting inspired leaders and committed to saving lives and improving quality of life by strengthening public health locally and globally. Prior to leading PHI, Dr. Pitman served as President of the Health Research and Educational Trust, which conducts research, demonstration projects and education. She was also a member of the executive staff of the American Hospital Association. Prior to assuming the leadership of HRET in 1993, she was President and CEO of the California Association of Public Hospitals. Dr. Pittman received master’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, in Public Health and City and Regional Planning, as well as a doctorate in Public Health Administration.
David B Pryor, MD Senior Vice President, Clinical Excellence, Ascension Health
Dr. Pryor is the Senior Vice President for Clinical Excellence at Ascension Health. In this role, Dr. Pryor is responsible for strategically positioning the organization as the premier quality spiritually based program in the country. Prior to joining Ascension, Dr. Pryor was the CIO at the Allina Health System where he built a nationally recognized IT program. Before that he was the President, New England Medical Center Hospitals, and on the faculty of Duke University for 15 years where he was the director of clinical program development, and the chief of the section of clinical epidemiology and biostatistics and the Duke database for cardiovascular disease. He was also head of the cardiology consultation service. He has authored close to 300 publications. He has served on a large number of national and international committees and recently chaired the advisory council for performance measurement for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Dr. Pryor has served as an industry consultant to a number of healthcare analysts and as a consultant to venture capital firms. He has also served on a number of boards of developing organizations.
John T. Shea, M.B.A.Senior Vice President, Business Development, Bon Secours Health System, Inc.
John Shea is senior vice president of Business Development for the Bon Secours Health System, a position he has held since 1993. Since joining Bon Secours Health System, Shea has led the negotiations for acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships that have expanded the health system from 13 facilities in 1993, to its current 32 facilities in nine states. Before joining Bon Secours Health System, Shea served as a member of the Executive Committee of HCA Management Company. Prior to this, Shea served as chief executive officer of Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital, Haverhill, Mass.; and the chief financial officer of Chesire Hospital, Keene, N.H. Shea is a certified public accountant and received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Bentley College in Waltham, Mass. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from New Hampshire College. A native of Boston, Shea is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
